Why should you get up early?

Why should you get up early? Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama are among the many who have managed to wake up to the sun. To step into the day . . even if it feels like the middle of the night outside. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, maybe I should do the same thing someday when I have kids or finally own a business. And let's say that in a certain season of your life, you really have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to maintain a work/life balance, you have my full respect. For others, and for the sake of the 9- or 5-year-old boy or girl, let me suggest an alternative. I did not wake up at 5 a.m. every day during this week-long experience. What I did do is get up earlier than my usual alarm clock, and I think that's the whole problem. During a typical week, I get up at 8 a.m.:       Don't rush to get out of bed.     Train in the morning, which experts say is most effective.      Prepare breakfast.     Put on...

The 10-minute rule

The 10-minute rule The 10-minute rule is a rule that has personally helped me achieve from small to big goals without giving up; I learned it from Will Smith, a famous acquaintance who explains it with a story that according to him happened to him as a child. Will Smith tells that one day when he was a child his dad went crazy and decided to tear down the wall in front of the business because he wanted a new one, and then his father approached him and his brother and told them: -you are going to build this new wall, which was 10 meters long by 5 meters high, adding that they had to make a hole 2 meters deep for the foundation and that between him and his brother every day coming back from school they had to mix cement and lay bricks. At that moment, Will told himself that they would never finish, that the store would be missing a wall forever. However, day after day they after school mixed the cement and lay the bricks, every day. Finally, a year and a half later, they laid t...

Disadvantages of using social networks

Disadvantages of using social networks Since their creation, social networks have helped us in different ways to stay connected with other people, whether they are acquaintances or strangers. But there comes a point in which social networks only mean problems, and these can be of different aspects such as: They create an unrealistic view of the world. This is because people use them to show how good life is. Adding so-called influencers, we will get a picture where only images of the perfect life will be shared on Facebook or Instagram. This can distort reality and cause dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and even depression for those who do not live as described below. Loss of privacy Some people do not realize that anything uploaded on the Internet can remain on the Internet for life. In addition, anyone can see the scene or private information. You should be very careful about the information you share on social networks. They create dependency Research has begun to expose, confirm...

Is there life after death?

I s there life after death? Many cultures have believed that something is waiting for us in the afterlife after our stay in this world is over, but what is it and why do so many cultures think the same? In this blog, I will show different points of view about this disturbing subject. As I mentioned before, according to different cultures, when we die, we will go to different places; for example, within the Christian religion, it is believed that one can either be resurrected in paradise or hell, depending on whether you did good deeds and followed the rules established by God. There are cases in which people claim to come back from death and claim to have been in paradise with a luminous and merciful being, something that has not been scientifically proven. However, it sounds disturbing to know that these people from different parts of the world have experienced the same thing. According to Spiritism, it is believed that when the earthly life ends, the soul of the person w...

Do the stars influence our lives?

Do the stars influence our lives? Certainly, many people believe in fate and the influence of the stars in our lives, but this happens?  People turn to astrology to interpret the supposed signals from the heavens about the future and thus take advantage of that information. Others believe that astrology can reveal what they are destined to do or perhaps help them figure out the most appropriate time to embark on an enterprise. How? Observing the position of certain stars and "calculating" the interaction between them and the Earth. They think that their influence on the person’s life will be greater or lesser depending on how they were aligned at the time of their birth. Nonetheless, there is not a scientific fundament for these principles. Horoscopes use a descriptive technique known as "The Forer effect". Also named Barnum effect or the fallacy of personal validation which says that people rate as asserted some descriptions of the personality that supposedly are ...
Better lifestyle, better memory Many forgetfulness and memory lapses are due to an inadequate lifestyle rather than to genetic or physiological causes. Arrested since childhood, some bad habits can make the mind lazy and atrophy the neurons, preventing the brain to develop its full potential. The abuse of calculators, cell phones, or the internet can become a double-edged sword since it offers the possibility to sharpen the mind, but also to make it lazier.  And since experts insist that the best way to maintain a good memory is to train it every day, it is important to know which habits we should integrate, and which should be discarded from our daily life. Good Habits Sleeping enough hours, at night, and in a completely dark room keeps the neurons in shape. On the other hand, according to experts, you memorize better after a nap, which is much more effective than studying at night. Studying at a well-ordered desk and with the proper orientation, sitting properly,...
