There are sometimes in our lives when we come across situations a little difficult to face, and it seems that everything is going wrong, however, it is not so because there is something that is going well and is that you still have a brain that can help you to solve or control, at least in part, the situation you are living. Losing your calm is not an option, you need to stay calm and relaxed as much as possible and keep a cool head.

Here are some tips that can help you in situations where you feel that everything is going wrong.

First, you should identify the signs of tension in your body.

Take the time to notice what your body is telling you when you are in a difficult situation. You may feel your muscles tighten, your breathing or heart speed up, or even your body temperature rise or your hands start to shake.

Each person has different signs. You should be able to identify them when they appear so that you are prepared to carry out the following tips.

Breathe deeply

Breathing control is essential to stay calm. When we are under pressure, with a high level of stress, we breathe more shallowly as the body is prepared for attack or flight.

Concentrate on your breathing and try to make it deeper and calmer. Take a deep breath in, hold your breath for about 5 seconds and exhale slowly. Repeat this as many times as necessary and you will see how the tension signals in your body will decrease.

Concentrate on something else

Faced with complicated situations, we often find that we cannot stop thinking about it continuously, and we try to avoid it, but the more we avoid it, the more it comes to mind. Trying not to think about something is thinking about it.

So don't try to think about the problem, just focus on something else. Visualize a landscape in your mind, listen to music, look out the window, watch videos, etc. As long as you distract yourself with something else.

And if despite everything you could not overcome that critical moment, think that you have tried, you have done well, and next time you will do better. Don't hold a grudge against yourself, what's done is done, and grudges will only make you feel bad for longer. The sooner you move on, the better.
