Why is reading important?
Reading is an activity that is not so usual in
many of us, but it is necessary for our mental development because it brings
several benefits, however, we have the concept of reading as something boring
that we do only when we have to study for an exam at school.
Here I will show you some points why you should
read more often since it doesn't take you as much time as you think and if it
does, it will be better than wasting time on social networks.
First, reading exercises the brain as it
generates new ideas in thought, increasing different points of view which
encourages the critical side, a fundamental point for the development of
identity, which is what defines each one of us. On the other hand, it also
develops creative intelligence since it causes the ability to be imaginative to
increase, and that makes individuals increasingly creative.
Reading can also increase vocabulary and
comprehension. Thanks to books you can increase your vocabulary and use it when
you want to communicate with other people, so you can use more synonyms or
antonyms, reduce redundancy, or use more technical words. But you must
understand that before being able to understand books with greater difficulty
it is better to have read other specialized books to be able to understand what
was intended to be expressed in the book.
Finally, if even knowing all these benefits you
do not like to read, it may be because you have not found the exact book for
you. I recommend you start reading short stories that interest you, and then
read books with longer stories, so you won't even realize when you started to
have a hobby for reading.

What book would you recommend a person to read?
As for me, reading is a good way to improve your vocabulary, and to be able to develop critical thinking skills. Moreover, you can increase your creativity and to enlarge a great ability to solve problems using your brain.
